ON-SITE AIR SAMPLING

ABOUT AIR CONTAMINANTS...

In the Code of Federal Regulations, OSHA has established maximum permissable breathing exposure limits for hundreds of chemicals. On April 1, 1996 NC OSHA enacted its own air contaminants standard stricter than that of federal OSHA. The employer must establish via air sampling or other objective data that employees are not overexposed to any of these chemicals. These exposure records must be maintained for thirty years and may be requested at any time by past and present employees, their authorized agents, and OSHA inspectors.

COMPLIANCE

ESP can assist employers in complying with the air contaminants standard through passive air monitoring badges and on-site air sampling. On site sampling is more accurate and is performed by the same methods OSHA would use during an inspection of your workplace. Unlike OSHA, we will offer suggestions for reducing high exposures as opposed to fining your facility.
